Van Buren Tech, part of the Van Buren Intermediate School District, was formerly known as the Skills Center, Vo-Tech, and the Technology Center. Today, VBT offers 25 programs, industry-recognized certifications, and opportunities to earn college credit through partnerships with colleges, universities, and local industry.

We invite former students, current students, staff, and community members to be part of this milestone celebration and experience how hands-on learning continues to make an impact across Van Buren County.

The Open House is open to former staff, former students, current students, community members, and their guests who want to explore Van Buren Tech. Attendees can enjoy guided tours, view program showcases and student displays, and purchase food from on-site food trucks.

🏥 SPORTS PHYSICALS 🏥

Bloomingdale Athletics will be hosting sports physicals on Thursday, June 4 from 3:00 PM – 8:00 PM in the High School Gym.

💲 Cost: $20
📄 Physical forms can be picked up in the Athletic Office.

Reminder: All middle school and high school student-athletes must have a sports physical dated after 4/15/26 in order to participate in athletics during the 2026-27 school year.

This is a great opportunity to get cleared early for next school year’s sports seasons!

Join us for the 14th Annual Memorial Day 5k hosted by the Bloomingdale Public Schools Athletic Department! The scenic course begins at Bloomingdale High School, winding east of town before returning along the shaded Kal-Haven Trail, finishing back at the high school entrance.

The Student vs. Staff basketball game held annually was a huge success. The students from 4th and 5th grade had an excellent time playing basketball with parents and staff. The elementary classes showed great support by cheering them on. We appreciate Miss Fink and everyone who made this event enjoyable for our students.

Our teachers in Pullman have been feeling the love this week with delicious treats and meals provided by so many generous supporters. Staff enjoyed Biggby coffee and donuts, pulled pork sandwiches provided by the Mortensen family, cake, and amazing cookie cakes from Cafe Julia.

Members of the Bloomingdale High School chapter of the National Honor Society took part in the 3rd Annual Pullman Spring Clean. Working with the group Beautify Pullman students spent the day pulling weeds, picking up littler, raking leaves, and spreading mulch at locations around Pullman. Thank you to these students and Beautify Pullman for helping making our community a great place to be!

Science Night was a huge success! The Sky Dome Planetarium from Mobile Ed was absolutely incredible, and our students’ science projects truly impressed everyone. We’re so proud of their hard work and curiosity!

🍔 Fire up the Grill for our Bus Drivers! 🚌 On Tuesday, we took a moment to celebrate the incredible crew that gets our students to and from school safely every single day. To show our gratitude for Bus Driver Appreciation Day, we hosted a special cookout luncheon for our team, cooked by Superintendent Rick Reo and Director of Operations Chris Serdel! 🚌Thank you, drivers, for the miles you drive, the early mornings you tackle, and the care you show our students. 🚌We are so lucky to have the best team behind the wheel!

Coach Billings and our high school football players had an awesome opportunity to attend the Notre Dame Spring Game last Saturday. This trip was earned as a reward for the players who have been putting in the work and showing commitment in the weight room this spring. Middle school students will be recognized on Wednesday, and high school students on Thursday, both from 8:20-8:56 a.m. Invitations were distributed last week during Cardinal Time to students who earned this honor. Parents/guardians, please check with your student to see if they received an invitation. If they did, we would love for you to join us in celebrating their achievement on their scheduled day!
