Bloomingdale second graders recently participated in the annual Ag Awareness Days at the Van Buren County Fairgrounds, an event that continues to be a highlight for the Van Buren Tech Agriculture & Natural Resources Program.
More than 800 second grade students attended the event, where Van Buren Tech students led interactive, hands-on learning stations focused on agriculture and natural resources. Bloomingdale students explored 14 different stations covering a wide variety of topics connected to everyday life and the agriculture industry.
Students had the opportunity to:
Learn about different farm animals and interact with them firsthand
Plant their own plants
Explore careers in agriculture
Weigh chicken eggs
Learn how milk is produced and distributed
Discover the crops Michigan is known for
And much more!
The experience gave students a fun and engaging look into the important role agriculture plays in our communities while encouraging curiosity through hands-on learning. Thank you to everyone who helped organize this memorable educational opportunity for our students!
